They were probably all under the influence of something! At least they weren't as bad as the Happy Mondays !!
Wasn't there a conspiracy theory that the BBC hated dance/rave music so much, that was the reason they changed their TOTP policy from bands miming to playing live?
Funnily enough, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr C seven years ago when he DJ'ed in Edinburgh (I think I've mentioned this before). I gave him the usual, 'Hello, that was great' etc etc and totally remember his eyes were as red as the devil! Plus, he was slurring his words a bit.
